Update

I have stuffed, stamped, and labeled all the invitations that I have addresses for so far.  I am still waiting on the rest of the addresses from Joshua's mom. Hopefully I will get them soon. I chose a florist, and can't wait to see what she puts together for us.  I had my dress fitting on Tuesday. It went well. I was hoping that I would need to have the dress altered due to my weight loss since buying it.  I was a little disappointed when it fit like a glove. I do look great in it!! So I am happy.  I can't wait to get it back once they have done the bustle.

Exercise

Since Joshua started his job in Birmingham on Aug. 9th I have slacked off on my workouts just  a bit.  I still make sure to work out at least twice a week, but I was going 4 times a week while he was here.  I noticed a couple of pounds creeping back on, so last week I decided I needed to kick it up a notch with the workouts.  Monday I went to the gym and did the usual workout.  Tuesday I wanted to change it up and went and climbed Kennesaw mountain after work.  It was so much fun.  It's 1.5miles to the top, so a total of 3miles. The view from the top is beautiful, I can't wait till the leaves start changing colors, it will be even prettier then.  I took Wednesday off due to the fact I was babysitting.  Thursday was the Kaiser Corporate 5k. My company always has a team, and it's a fun way to work out with co-workers. So I participated. No I didn't not run....I hate running. I walked and boy was I tired at the end of it.  I decided that my shoes really need to be retired, I ended up with a blister and very sore feet at the end.  As the weather starts to cool down I will begin walking more after work, and climbing Kennesaw Mtn more often! I have to look my best on Dec. 5th!

Invitations

I had a very hard time finding pre-made invitations that I liked.  So I decided to make my own, with the help of a friend.  I put together 126 invitations, and gave them to my friend to print.  Well her printer decided to be crazy and not work properly.  I began to freak out slightly, thinking "how in the world am I going to get these things printed".  My mom and dad have a laser printer at their house, so I decided to see if it would work. It left two black marks on the paper, and we couldn't figure out why. So we thought we would give the ink jet printer a try. And to our surprise IT WORKED! YAY! So I got all of the invitations printed, and only ruined 10 of them. We also printed the response cards.  I am on the way to being completely done with the invitations and will be able to stuff envelopes in the coming weeks.  Things are really coming together for the wedding.  I have my first dress fitting on Sept. 28th.  Hopefully we will be making a decision on a florist this coming week. After that I think I will be able to sit back and relax until Dec. 5th!!

9/11/2001

I will never forget the events of 9/11/2001.  It was my senior year of high school and I was sitting in a history class.  A teacher from across the hall came running in our room and turned the tv on and only said that a plane had hit the World Trade Center.  We sat there in shock watching the events unfold before our eyes.  I remember watching the second plane crash into the other tower and the tv reporters began speculating what might be the next target.  I can still hear the sounds of the people who made the decision to jump out of the towers in hopes that it would save them.  I remember the look on the people's faces who were in the area as it was all happening.  When the tv reporters started talking about other possible targets they kept mentioning the CDC here in Atlanta.  Even though I was a senior and almost 18 I honestly was scared. I don't think I was the only one who felt that way.  When the first tower fell I was in complete shock.  How could a building so huge just crash to the ground? I kept wondering how many people were still inside of it.  And then to see the other tower fall.  I don't remember if I cried while watching everything happen.  But to this day whenever I watch anything pertaining to 9/11 I cry.  I will never forget what happened on 9/11. It will be something that I share with my kids and grandkids.

The unity that our country experienced in the days after 9/11 was amazing.  Our country came together to help the people who were directly affected by the terrorist attack. American flags were flying on almost every home and car.  What happened to that unity? What happened to everyone being patriotic? Things sure have changed in the past 9 years.

It really gets my blood boiling that people want to build a Mosque just two blocks from Ground Zero.  Radical Muslims hijacked the planes and claimed they were doing it in the name of Allah. How can building a religious center for the very religion of the people who terrorized our nation be a good thing? I know that not all Muslims are radical.  I don't have a problem with any religion having a house of worship.  What I have a problem with is that there are hundreds of Mosques in New York already, why do they insist on building one so close to Ground Zero? I would feel the same way if a group of radical Christians, Mormons, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, or atheists claimed responsibility for the attack.  I would not want a house of worship for their religion to be built anywhere near the place of the attack.    I think that the only house of worship that should be built near Ground Zero is the Greek Orthodox church that was destroyed when the towers collapsed.

Have you forgotten what happened on 9/11? I know I never will

Nasty Ladies....and a good day!

Two posts in one

I work with some nasty ladies. Today I went into the bathroom to do my business and like normal I turned to walk into the first stall. To my surprise it looked like a man had peed all over the seat. I was so disgusted. This is not the first time that someone I work with has done this. Our bathroom on the 3rd floor is always being messed up by employees. It makes me wonder what their houses look like. I really wish I knew who is responsible.

I got permission to put up signs in the bathroom regarding making a mess. So I typed up a sign that says “if you sprinkle when you tinkle have a heart and do your part, no one wants a wet behind.” I also included a picture of a toilet. There is a sign at eye level on the outside of the stall, and then one that is eyelevel if you are sitting on the toilet…and I put them on every stall! Maybe that will get the point across.

I can’t stand working with nasty people. It’s not hard to clean up after yourself. I told our HR assistant that the bathroom needs to be locked and require checking out a key from the HR department. That may be extreme, but if you had to use this bathroom you would feel the same way. I feel as though the person or persons who are being so nasty in the bathroom have no respect for their co-workers. The bathrooms at Wal-Mart are cleaner than the one on the 3rd floor of my building, and that is a sad thing.

On a good note, Joshua is on his way home today. He gets Thursday and Friday off because his trainer took the days off. So he gets a nice long weekend. We are going out for pizza when he gets here! Today I found out that Swoozies has 7 stores that re-opened….including the one in the Forum in Norcross!! I went there today to get more paper for the wedding invitations. I still was not able to get it all, as they are no longer carrying the “round scalloped edge” paper. I will have to find that elsewhere. But I was able to get the rest of the squares and get the response cards. I also came across a store called Limetree, they have really cute gifts. I went in to see if they had paper products, which they don’t, but found some Christopher Radko ornaments. My mom collects them, and Limetree had them marked 50% off! So I bought her two really cute ornaments. I will be going to back to Limetree to get some personalized bridesmaids gifts. Their selection was really good, and I found things that I really liked.
