February 5th we traveled to GA, and James and I were able to stay there until the 24th. Joshua was able to stay with us until the 10th, and then he had to go back to KY until the 21st. I slacked off and didn't take many pictures while we were there. I really just lived in the moment, and enjoyed every minute of it!
On the 7th Joshua and I took James to see my grandparents in Smyrna. My grandpa has Alzheimer's, and everyone in the family says he isn't doing good, so I wanted to make sure that he got to spend some extra time with James. We spent most of the day over there, and headed home at 7. James normally nurses at 7, but it's only about a 20 minute drive so I decided to just nurse him right when we got home so he could then go to bed. Well our drive home didn't go as expected. At 7:14pm we were rear ended on 285. I was so pissed off. It took an hour for the cops to show up. Thankfully damage was minor and we weren't hurt at all. I didn't want to take James out of his seat for fear of someone else hitting us while we were sitting on the side of the road. He was tired, hungry, and just wanted out of his seat. The day after the wreck I went and purchased James a new car seat, and the insurance company is sending us a check to pay for it. Some people on FB said that I didn't need to replace the seat. But my baby's safety is my top priority and I will not do anything to jeopardize it.
On the 9th we went to my parents house so that we could sit with my dad. He had to have eye surgery that morning, because he had a wrinkle on his retina. My mom had somewhere to be, and didn't want him left alone all afternoon. Joshua stayed with us until just before dinner time, and then went back to his parents. He stayed there that night and then went back to KY.
James and I stayed with my parents until the 21st. We didn't do too much, which was very nice. Normally our trips are so busy, and we are constantly going to visit people. My mom and I did go up to the consignment sale at the fair grounds on Thursday, and got James some clothes for this summer. We met my friend Jessie up there, and it was nice getting to see her. James and I visited with my best friend on her birthday Friday. I had a jewelry party Saturday and 3 people came. I was kinda disappointed in the turn out, but it's ok. We also went to my niece's birthday party that day. Sunday we drove out to my grandparents house (dad's side) and visited with family. Monday we went to my grandparents (mom's side) to celebrate my grandpa's 86th birthday. After that we didn't do anything.
James switched himself back to a 4 hour schedule while were were in GA, which makes me happy! He also started sleeping until 7:30 each morning. I'm enjoying the 30 extra minutes of sleep each morning.
Joshua came back to GA to get us on the 21st. We stayed with his parents once he arrived, and were able to celebrate his birthday on the 23rd with his family. We left to drive back to KY on the 24th after James ate his lunch.
I really enjoyed getting to spend so much time with family, and let James enjoy time with his grandparents. We don't have any plans to go back until James turns 1. We have been down there each month since he was 8 weeks old. My parents are coming up here next week, which will be nice. Maybe some of our other family members will come visit us. No one has been up here since James was born.
